The START programme is an initiative by South Tyneside Council to improve access to Council jobs for local people. The trainees on the programme had a range of backgrounds and expectations, with the common goal of wanting careers in the Council.

Footprint worked with the trainees to ensure that the programme was relevant to their individual needs in terms of career progression within the Council and their own personal goals. The feedback from the trainees was excellent and they are using the information that they gained from the programme in their everyday work routines.

The Footprint programme helped to give the trainees a focus to their careers and identified the ways that the trainees could achieve their goals.
